Pros: EZDetach is a tool for Microsoft Outlook that helps taking out/separating /downloading attachments easy, as easy as a single mouse click. It gets integrated as a toolbar button. The process is as simple as selecting a message or messages from which attachments are to be removed and saving them. An infinite number of attachments can be saved in a single click. The attachments are saved separately in files/folders in the file system and thus do not take up space in the PSDT files of MS outlook. That prevents outlook from becoming sluggish with time, as the PST grows. It saves a lot of time in separating the attachments. In outlook one has to do this individually, not only per mail but also for each attachment in a mail with multiple attachments. EZDetach lets you save, remove, sort, categorize, zip, and unzip attachments from Outlook e-mail messages. Search functions help finding attachments easier. One can snag the attachments automatically via Outlook mail rules too. It provides flexible and customizable attachment file and subfolder naming. One can retain attachments link even though the attachments have been separated out as also complete detach the files on such links have been removed. Attachments can be zipped/unzipped on the fly too and be printed as required. It works with Outlook 2000 and later.

Cons: Managing e-mail and their attachments is complicated enough. Once detached there’s always a possibility that reference to attachments, which mail they were attached to, may easily get lost. Unless, the processes take care of this and guard against it the whole thing can become a mess.

Overall: Nice add in that is easy to use but prone to creating a mess this application is rated at a very good 3 stars category.
